I Despise Tom Cruise
What a dick. This man is very famous and influential so his ignorant opinion is very dangerous.
I can't tell you how many people I know who have needed therapy when dealing with the whole coming out process. I can't tell you how many people I know who were suicidal during that whole period who needed someone to help sort things out and/or medication just to get through the day (including myself). I have seen people who couldn't get out of bed after the loss of a loved one. Medication helped them through the grieving process and they become better because of it. I have seen medication and therapy help many, many people close to me get through various issues. They are all extremely happy and productive now. The list goes on and on.
Do I think that medication is over-prescribed and not right for everyone? Sure. Blame bad doctors and all the fucking TV ads by pharmaceutical companies allowed to run non-stop around the clock telling us that we NEED medication and for us to ASK our doctors about them. But I also believe that good, responsible doctors have seriously helped people for the better and actually saved lives. And yes, exercise, spirituality, and "vitamins" (as he says) may also assist when you're completely devastated by something but sometimes people need a lot more help.
Not everyone has had such a cushy, pampered life as you, Tommy. Try to think outside the box for once. I hope Katie gives you crabs.
This prick has had two divorces. Perhaps, a little psychiatric counseling would have helped his egotistical ass work through his issues and maybe even helped him keep his lifetime vow to one of his wives.
I hope an alien spaceship with a big Scientology bumper sticker takes him and his brainwashed, Dawson Creek-starring fiance far, far away. Better yet, I hope they give birth to a gay child. That would totally freak him out. He would gorge himself on Paxil.
Fuck you, Tom. I will never support any of your movies. They all suck anyway (especially Minority Report and Collateral).
God Bless Brooke Shields. I might even buy the Blue Lagoon on DVD. Okay, maybe I won't go that far. But good for her for having the balls to speak up.
UPDATE: The Washington Post has a good article about the incident.
Peace.

preach it, durban bud! tom cruise is a muthaphuckin pansy who's terrified that people might think he's gay all the while swaggering around like a slap-happy American hero. In reality, he's a sad, egomanical piece of shit. Ahem . . .'scuse my french.

You pissy little BITCH Tom. You have NO idea what you are talking about and CLEARLY don't care for anything but your own views.
But if you really are into doing your own research and "experiencing" things for yourself - please have one of your loved ones killed so you can experience the emotions and dread and physical symptoms sudden depression can cause. If you ACTUALLY make it through things without any help from counseling, medication or a combination of the two THEN you and I can sit down and have a balanced rational discussion about depression and modern psychiatry. Bring it motherfucker I'm waiting...
Oh and drag that b-grad softcore porn actress Katie Holmes into the street and shoot her now - it will be thoroughly less painful than the journey she is about to embark on.

Hey, it could be worse. I'd rather Tom Cruise be a Scientologist than a Southern Baptist...(no offense to our southern baptists out there - I was one of them myself.)

I was raised a southern baptist too, my friend. We should trade stories sometime. Both religions discriminate on different issues so they are kinda similar.

And I thought I was the only one who thought Cruise was a sanctimonious prick. Hate his movies and agree with TOS that maybe once the asshole has experienced real loss he can preach about the evils of anti-depressants. But as for me, they saved my fucking life so screw him. As for Katie - well she's obviously just dumb.

i do not have anything to add other than that i TOTALLY agree with every iota of every word you said. tom is a nut. scientology is a cult. and katie holmes is a naive little girl. i can't see any of his movies either less i put one penney in the bank account of the cult of scientology

Maybe if he went to therapy, he'd realize he is a flaming homo.

I can't believe you guys don't all think that Tom Cruise is HOT...H O T ! Come on, Durb, admit it, you love the guy!
Even if he is only 4'3".

Scientology is WHACK. I once got very into "cracking the cult" and trying to become a member strictly for research into their mania, but, I got alot of heat from the first moment.
Anyhow, I like some Tom Cruise movies, even though I can't stand him, in particular, Magnolia.
Does anyone else besides me see the similarities between his character in that movie (especially the TV interview part) and the way he is acting in reality? If not, rent it again and check it out.

He has a serious case of short man syndrome.

He was cute waaaaaaaaaaaay back when in Risky Business - after that his culty behaviour made him about as attractive as Courtney Love after a Methadone convention... I rest my case.
And if scientology is sooo great why is he still shorter than Napolean, can they magically fix that?

Shit! Did you ever touch a nerve, but I couldn't agree more - Everytime I see him on TV I nearly vomit in my mouth. He is so self-righteous with a pathetic superiority complex. I haven't liked him since A Few Good Men, probably the last time he could actually act and was somewhat "normal". Seriously folks, I am convinced that he has been brain-washed by scientology and has just been their puppet. I've actually been boycotting his movies for the last 5 years!!!! The f***ing homo needs to get laid by a dude and then just come out and then he'll finally have peace.

Dave, you're such a horny little pig. Honestly, I don't think Tom is "HOT" at all. Just not my type. I think he may be physically somewhat attractive but not sexually attractive. Yuck. If he and, let's say, Mr. Green Jeans were both naked in a room, I would fuck Mr. Green Jeans. Now put me in a room with porn star Dean Coulter and I'll be all over that shit.
And Chris, I thought Magnolia was an interesting movie but he had a small role so it was more tolerable to me. And, yes, I think his character's anger in that movie is right on par with his anger towards current scientific medical evidence. He has serious anger management issues behind that fake grin of his. He needs a thorough spanking from you. Maybe you can smack some sense into him. That would make me happy.

I say we all chip in and buy a nice big can of Crisco for Tom... Maybe he'll get more than a spanking!

"I am not a sex therapist."

It's okay...I despise Matt Lauer even more...repugnican corporate whore that he is...
