Rain
It's been a miserable mofo around DC these past few days. If I wasn't depressed before, I think I may be now. Although...the sun is out today. Amen.
I believe this is the third year in a row I've skipped the High Heel Race cuz it rained (which is a shame cuz I love it). Such a good time. Anyway, I don't feel like writing so please check out these sites. One is funny. One is provocative. I don't live in NYC and did not lose anyone on 9/11 so someone else with more knowledge will need to respond to "Let Them Build."

It was so nasty out last night! I've been to only 2 high heel races in my life and I was looking forward to going last night - but not in 45 degree rain! If I want to see wet shrieking queens tripping over themselves I'll stand outside Cobalt at 3:00AM on any Friday night!

So happy I can say I've been abiding the rules for "being a straight woman in a gay bar" since I moved to the Dupont Circle area 5+ years ago. Amen.

I can completely commiserate about the weather. We've had so much rain up her that Paul & I have seriously though about buildong an ark. Seriously -- since Oct. 1, it has rained no less than 14 days -- and 8 of those in a row. It's been horrid. But it has to get better, right? At least until it starts snowing. ;)

I always loved The High Heel Race - but the weather always seemed to be so crappy. Back in 1990's, it was my favorite thing to do. Wish I could be there on Saturday! Have a great time and make the most of it.

That sucks about the HH race. It was always one of my favorite nights in DC. I'm looking forward to being back in the 'hood tonight. Three more hours here in nukie-land; home to catch a few quick winks, then it's all aboard the peace train (Acela Express...the only way to travel) to come hang with the bud and his stud!
