American Girl
* Do not buy American Girl dolls for your daughters or nieces this holiday season. I have learned my lesson. And I'm not saying that because they make Peppermint Patty-like dolls; I'm saying that because they automatically put you on their little girly mailing list. My sister told me to buy my niece one a couple years ago. So I did. There was an American Girl catalog addressed to me lying on the floor of our lobby the other day. I was mortified. How dare they. No wonder my neighbors have been looking at me funny. They think I collect dolls.
* Is it just me or is "King Kong" the most popular bestiality movie ever made? No one seems to mention this. They sure aren't promoting "Brokeback Mountain" like they are "King Kong." Guy on guy romance = bad. Gorilla on girl romance = HOT! Naomi Watts must be sore.
* Bob Mould performed a rockin' version of "Days of Rain" the other day at the Birchmere. He also played "Can't Fight It." It made me happy. We all had a great time. If you weren't there, I am so sorry.
* I had more to say but I can't remember what it was right now. This will have to do.

Here's yet another reason... they were all over the news recently b/c the company was "supporting abortion and charities that perpetuate lesbianism" - ooooooooooh. Actually the company is supporting a big charity Girls Inc. which those biblethumping moron neo-cons don't like b/c it is pro-woman. So that is good that American Girl is supporting the charity right?
Well in my opinion they suck. Instead of decrying the ludicrous nature of the attack on their donations, they merely sidestepped everything and said they didn't want their dolls to be the subject of "political discussion" - so in summary they are nothing but a bunch of profiteers dressed up as good girls - but when push comes to shove, not touching the issue just shows how spineless these people really are.
Good article here (funny and lightly written) Funny article about these fools
But are they really dolls, or girly action figures... hmmmmmm maybe Matt can tell us :-P

Don't complain about that. I got my sister a bra and square shorts thingy set from Vick's Secret last year for Christmas, ordering it online so I wouldn't have to face going into a store. Now the catalog arrives once a month, to my constant horror.
If I had your mancrushing neighbor, he'd want to come over and read it with me. Thank god everyone in my building is gay or female or both.

I once bought a wig for my Mom as a Christmas gift 5 years ago and I still get their damn catalog. But hay, if you need a nice Ava Gabor wig I can hook you up! I was also really happy to hear Bob play Days of Rain. Sad song but love it.

I miss DC and all of my "American Girls". BTW, I happened to see in the Philly Silly Paper that your friend Bob Mould, whom I met at your 10th, is playing in Philly tonight. Im still waiting to see your name in lights??
I know your Thanksgiving was a blast...your get-togethers are. Mom and Dad came up to visit, my bro drove down for the day (sans bf...inlaw issues). But it was a lovely holiday.
Thursday I'm off to Miami for one of lifes milestones (you're halfway there)...let's just say there will be alot of "high fives" (think Jack Lord).
Are you having leather cocktails for MAL weekend? Is TOS dusting off his signature cap? I'm visiting that weekend, so count me in on whatever plans you might have.

Kinda reminds me of when my good friend TJ signed me up with the Mary Kate and Ashley fan club. :) Could it be Karma?

That's what ALL corporations are, Tos. Money is always the focus. So, if they think they can make more of it catering to the Left (or Right), that's what they'll do. Or, maybe the CEO really does favor Left causes, got caught, and is now trying to bow out of the public's eye so as not to lose Right buyers' money. It's all so nauseating. Worse, realizing that corporations are ruling this country, at this point. (In fact, the govt is being run like one). Sickening.

You know I will be there cap and all! I just hope Nation stays open a lil bit longer so they can still have the dance there!
