Bailey Beagle

Editor’s note: I am filling in for TJ while he is at an undisclosed location without Dick Cheney. Full Disclosure: I am a terrible editor and speller.

I miss Bailey. Bailey was a former resident of DC. Unfortunately, Bailey moved to San Francisco last year. I was truly traumatized upon his departure. He was our little buddy. Bailey often stayed with us. We lived in the same apartment building for several years. In fact one weekend his owner Ttodd asked us if we would watch Bailey for the weekend. Needless to say that weekend turned into months. TTodd returned over four months later. We had visitation rights with Bailey and it was not uncommon to see him with us.

Being a Beagle he simply does not like to be alone. He is a pack dog after all. He howls when left behind (think Snoopy on top of his dog house but much louder) and he licks the floor when he is nervous. Now we all have baggage so what is a few howls and a lot of dog saliva. He more than makes up for it when he looks up at you with those big brown hound eyes. Besides sniffing and eating his other favorite past time is snuggling. Bailey will spend hours curled up in a ball or on his back sitting on your lap. That is Beagle heaven for Bailey.

At his or um, TTodd’s going away party. Mr. Dubud and I walked in to TTodd’s loft just as his quests where toasting him wishing him goodwill and good luck in San Francisco. As the door opened Bailey powerful snout got a whiff of mine and Dbud’s downy fresh scent. He howled (ahhhrraarahhhh) with delight. It was an equally joyous reunion. The room interrupted by bailey’s whaling looked to see what we had done to little Bailey. He was rejoicing, jumping up and down and up and down. We reciprocated with a few vigorous tummy rubs and maybe even a Pringle or two. It was a bittersweet evening I knew I was going to have to say goodbye to Bailey

As the evening wore on I spoiled Bailey rotten, petting him above his tail in his tickle spot and feeding him dog biscuits. Inevitably we had to leave. I began to tear up. Ttodd suggested we take bailey for the evening we declined. As I walked briskly down U Street three steps ahead of Dbud I struggled to hold back tears.

I miss Bailey. As Dbud would say “He’s a good girl.” He is actually a boy but that is Dbud's sense of humor.

On an unrelated note I spent the weekend with Dbud at the undisclosed location without Dick Cheney, (the big R on the bay). He is doing well. It was good to see him. It is very peaceful there. He is anxious to return and misses everyone.

I miss my old room mates dog, but I'll never admit this to anyone. I refuse to get a tiny dog.
damnit I may be gay but I don't want to be that stereotypical.

Our best to you, and Bailey, and Dbud.

Everytime I see a beagle I can't help pining away for "the beagle" Bailey. He is the best dog I have ever met and I too miss him terribly. Whenever he was at Mr. M and Dbud's house I was usually there too. He was like the dog I have never had and we used to go on long walks together. Some nights I would get to their place on like a Friday night and barely say hi to the boys b/c that beagle was always itching to go outside (or as Dbud would say 'owside!) and I was more than happy to accompany. I think that dog sniffed every patch of concrete and grass from here to JRs. If a dog peed there, Bailey knew all about it!

Oh yes and I did I mention Bailey was a BOY MAGNET. All kinds of HOT guys would come up to me when I had that adorabeagle with me. Problem was that I was still "str8" at the time so I didn't take advantage of that. One time some gorgeous guy came and talked to us and even offered to be my "workout" buddy - if only I knew now what I couldn't admit back then!

I miss Bailey. You know I love his legal owner to death but the next time I am in San Fran I am kidnapping my baby and bringing him home! ;-)

PS. I was also lucky enough to see Dbud for a couple hours this weekend... I didn't see Dick Cheney (he's stealthy) but I think I saw Condi and her weave in the parking lot... I will be happy when Dbud is back - nobody laughs at my stupid jokes or makes fart noises like my best friend!

The Beagle himself was at our place this weekend for a guest appearance and is as fiesty as ever. Make sure you boys come out for a visit before long when all is good... xo

Puppy love is THE most wonderful love in the world! I don't what I'd do without my Bentley. I think it's time you boy did the rigth thing and became puppy daddies!

Bailey Beagle sends you love and licks! He is SuperHappy in San Francisco, but he does miss you boys somethin' fierce! He lives with T.Todd at the top of Telegraph Hill and loves rolling around in the grass at Washington Square Park. He is still SuperCute and sometimes stinky and he'll still do anything in the world for you, if you'll just rub his tummy a lil' bit longer . . .
