Criss Angel

I'm not really into magicians, but this guy seems kinda cool. Please watch this video and tell me how you think they did this. I'll comment and tell you how I think they did it, but watch it first.

This woman was in on the trick. He selected the first woman who wasn't tall enough to psych everyone out. The woman he split was an amputee with prosthetic legs. She wore a skirt to hide where they attach to her body. I think they added the part where her feet move later, not when she was actually split.

Gosh, that's scary.
It would be logic to think that the splitted woman is an amputee and the feet are kind of prosthesis, but it seems to me she can move quite well on this fake legs. Maybe she is used to it or well trained, don't know. The trick is in any case GREAT

Could the woman in the skirt have actually been a "little person" with an amputee sitting on their shoulders?

The real trick in Criss Angels hair. Jesus, run a comb through it once in a while.

I almost puked. The amputee crawling on the ground with the pony tail looks like a DC rat.

Well its great the little people can still get work from magicians. In this case two of them.

I believe it was on Discovery Health Channel about the woman with half a body. Not this one in the trick; another woman but she suffered from the same birth defect. The lower spine and everything below it never develops during gestation. The internal organs are shoved together right below the chest cavity. One of the worst defects one can imagine BUT:

The woman on Discovery walked around exactly like this actress. They become very adept at moving around. I recognized immediately what had happened here.

Two clues: why was the woman wearing a long black skirt when everyone else was dressed for hot weather? Answer: hide the prosthetic legs.

Also, notice the hard sound when Criss pounds on her middle. He is making sure just where her body ends and the artificial legs are attached.

Not really too pleased with this trick. If one didn't know better, it could be a real gross out.

Good trick. Quite scary, and it does take at least a few viewings to decipher how he managed to do it, and after that, as always, the charm is gone. :)

The woman is definitely in on it, and so are many (if not all) people in the crowd, cameramen included.

The first woman was brought forward just as a distraction. The second woman has prosthetic legs as correctly mentioned before. Notice how Criss supports her head firmly as he lets her fall back on the bench. She would definitely need that help to lay down backwards without losing her balance. Good observation about the black skirt.

Criss probably edited the footage to show the toes of the prosthetic legs move. Not sure whether that was another little person. The feet look too normal-sized for that.

But what really convinced me that the woman was half-size and was pretending all along was the fact that she screamed and ran away after she was split. The intention there was to scare the TV/Internet viewers. If I was in the crowd and not in on the trick, I would have examined the legs that were left behind or may be run after the upper half.

But then no one invites me to these things. :)
