Homo Cinema

Are there any good gay movies?

Yeah, yeah, there is Brokeback Mountain and Longtime Companion but they were both depressing. Excellent, but depressing. And Trick was cute. But, are those the only ones?

Tos told me to rent Gay Sex in the 70's. It was okay. Nothing spectacular. I felt kinda dirty after it, so I took a shower.

I love documentaries. I would like to make one about gay men who constantly stroke their coarse eyebrow hair as they age, but I don't think anyone would want to see it.

I've been to the gay film festivals, but the majority of the films are crap. Sorry, but it's true.

I want to see a thriller or something with gay main characters, like Single White Female or the Bourne Supremacy. In fact, it'd be cool to see Jimbo in a Bourne Supremacy type role, or maybe We, Like Sheep as the gay roommate with a moustache terrorizing poor Bridget Fonda in a Single White Female remake. I can see the tag line now, "Living with a neurotic gay roommate can be murder." I would totally see that.

Maybe someday.

Living with a gay roommate can be murder!

Yeah it was just okay - definitely a Netflix rental but you gotta start somewhere right? Plus it was fairly light and interesting but we have a long way to go... ;-)

ooohh, good gay movies--that's right up my alley. now, unfortch, we are frequently cast as victims, but sometimes, even when we're victims, we still make a good film. i can't think of any bourne supremacy or swf like ones, but here's some pretty good ones:
edge of seventeen
beautiful thing
wild reeds
lilies (might be a little out there)
frisk
fantome
velvet goldmine
el matador
the living end
totally f*cked up
doom generation
nowhere
fox and his friends
poison
swoon
go (has a gay storyline and its a good flick)
and i'll stop there.

This is a great reference site for "gay" movies. http://www.aboutgaymovies.info/list.htm
Have you been in any movies? You have that "star" quality...

I always thought Top Gun was a good gay movie.

Don't trust anyone that says "Doom Generation" is a good movie!!
Go see Kiss Kiss Bang Bang with Val Kilmer, he even kisses a guy and the plot is actually entertaining!
Latter Days is alright too

I enthusiastically second anger_hangover, and add Francois Ozon's 'Water drops on burning rocks' to the mix, since it portrays Daddy/Son, bisexual, and transsexual relationships in a tense psychodrama, paired with an infectious dance number.

Chasing Amy is my favorite...

I look like an extra from 'Pulse' in that picture...can you smooth out those smudges please?

I'd rather star in the gay remake of 'Conan the Barbarian' or maybe 'Barbarella' instead.

Wasn't Barbarella gay enough?! :-P
