Orinoco Butt Flow

As I was returning my weekend porn stash, I noticed the streets were quite desolate. Then it dawned on me -- people are at home celebrating one of America's favorite pastimes: having gay sex!

So I notified the wife of what was to come (who also had completely forgotten!), bought some lube and chicken wings, and made my way back to sodomy's lair.

For the past twelve years, Enigma has provided the soundtrack to our carnal lust. I'm getting a little tired of it, although it still works fine. I always wonder what other people listen to, while getting their muffin buttered. I've tried to mix it up throughout the years, but haven't found anything as perfect as Enigma.

Someone once told me to try Enya, so I did. I didn't feel sexual at all. In fact, I felt like getting a pedicure. And every time things would start to heat up, it would get all quiet, and then: "SAIL AWAY, SAIL AWAY, SAIL AWAY!" Yeah, that makes me want to bone something.

No music is fine once in awhile, but I prefer not to hear myself giggling. It's distracting.

So, tell me, what is your preferred music for lovemaking? What is your Orinoco Butt Flow?

Dark Side of the Moon...duh!

Posted by: Steve at February 4, 2007 10:33 PM

I tend to be a little loud during sex so no music for me.

Giggling? What the hell are you doing?

Posted by: moby at February 4, 2007 10:48 PM

We were just listening to a chill-out stream... nice and ambient so we could focus on our grunting :-)

Massive Attack's "Blue Lines"...and Ethel Merman's entire catalogue.

Urgh, I'm having a horrible flash-back. I lost my bottom virginity (I think you know what I mean) with a 50-odd year old man who insisted on having Enigma up really loud the whole way through. I can't listen to it now without thinking about having my legs in the air and a seeing a panting little bald man banging away.

These days it's the sound of porn in the background and my own growling.

(P.S. - I was drunk, ok!)

Global Groove's "The Edge" by Mark Anthony (http://www.centaurmusic.com/CdOne.asp?CDID=154). It's a little dark and dirty.

Zero 7 "The Garden" :)

somehow, we always end up doing it to the McLaughlin Group

Sade - "Cherish the Day"

(Don't want no) Short dick Man

followed by Closer by NIN.

Then maybe Kashmir by Led Zepplin

Actually Enigma has always been a favorite of mine. Anita Baker is good when you want to make sweet love. Lords of Acid is good for just hardcore fucking.

Posted by: Brian at February 5, 2007 11:18 AM

These are always a good call: Massive Attack's Mezzanine, Global Underground's Afterhours 1 and Afterhours 2, and Nick Warren's Shanghai #028.

I have an evolving "Hump-o-rama" playlist... mostly stuff like Nina Simone, Natalie Walker, and Zero 7. It almost always puts me in the mood. Sadly, it hasn't been getting much airplay lately, so I decided to listen to it at the gym a couple weeks ago... big mistake.

Hmm, usually something to drown out his screaming. Sandstorm by Darude is always a good choice, but it's a bit short. The Bongo Song by Safri Duo is an excellent bet as well.

NIN for me!

Posted by: TonkaManOR at February 5, 2007 02:31 PM

Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Maybe that's why I aint gettin' none!

Posted by: homer at February 5, 2007 02:49 PM

I always found that Led Zeppelin puts me in the mood, it's all that Robert Plant "Push Push Push OHHH! Squeeze my lemon until the juices runs down my leg" that stuff really gets me going, plus it has a heavy driving beat to keep up with.

Never cared for anything hardcore like metal, rock or anything like that for sex. But something like Sarah McLachlan or Jann Arden always put me in the mood. George Michael's music can always help as well.

Posted by: mark at February 5, 2007 04:31 PM

Hmmmm, I've never really thought about it. Usually, there is no music playing. Or, if there is, I'm too busy concentrating on other things to even notice.

Posted by: Bubala at February 5, 2007 04:43 PM

Meybe if you cover the mirrors or turn out the lights you wont have to worry so much about giggling.

One of my first, and I use the term oh-so-lightly, loved to play the soundtrack for Evita. Puke, I know.

Not sure why you'd want something as soft and melodic as Enigma. I'm kinda partial to the hardcore shit. Something that will make you sweat.

The song from "The Lost Boys". "Cry Little Sister" is the ultimate sex song... mmmmmm... not only in the movie, but in life... I have to admit, I would put it on repeat when I was hooking up in college... my str8 days... chicks loved it... and a few dudes... hehehe

Posted by: Kelly at February 5, 2007 06:01 PM

We usually just pop a porn video in, and do it to that... ;P

Posted by: TigerYogi at February 5, 2007 06:50 PM

I prefer no music, because I can't stop focusing on the lyrics or sound when it's on.

Posted by: jimbo at February 5, 2007 06:53 PM

Butthole Surfers, of course.

Brian Eno or Dead Kennedy's are favorites depending on the mood, or toys involved.

Posted by: rodger at February 6, 2007 01:14 AM

Funny that two other people have already mentioned Massive Attack, because for years my favorite let's-get-it-on record was the "No Protection" Massive Attack v. Mad Professor dub remix album (but it's on vinyl so I have to get up halfway through and flip the record).

More recently, Triosk and Jan Jelinek (umm, kind of obscure, I know). But usually, no music at all. I'd rather have silence than interrupt what we're doing to go fiddle with iTunes.

Posted by: John T at February 6, 2007 09:43 AM

Massive Attack, Portishead... or Massive Attack with Portishead, Frou Frou, Radiohead... Great! Now I'm horny.

Posted by: Andrew at February 6, 2007 12:34 PM

Silence? Though if I had to choose, maybe Lil' Kim's "How Many Licks". I have no idea, as long as it's not Law & Order or a Disney movie.

Posted by: copperred at February 7, 2007 01:21 PM

hey

You may have heard of delerium, they are kinda sorta similar to Enigma, but they are much more modern.

My bf and I have ben having fabulous gay sex to their album Karma (available on iTunes!!!!!!) for the last 8 years.

love your blog, just found it.
