The Beautiful People
According to Travel & Leisure, the most attractive people live in Miami. DC placed 24th. Ouch -- I mean, eeew.
San Francisco is the most gay-friendly. Shocking! DC placed 13th.
Charleston -- according to the mag -- is the friendliest city in the U.S., and places 3rd for most attractive people. It's also the 21st gay friendliest. MmmmHmmm.
We shall see. I head there tomorrow. I better meet some nice, hot, gay-friendly men.
I'll keep you posted.
UPDATE: I'm here. It's been raining all day. Charming city. Free wireless at the hotel. My sister brought me a package of siroopwafelens from Holland. Yum. Her husband just made an offer on a beach home here. Yes, Jesus loves me. Swam in the hotel pool with my niece and nephew. Mom says my toe nails are too long. Where my gays at?
UPDATE II: That survey is complete and utter shit. Lies!

Well, you and Rob will be there at Charleston... that kinda satisfy the "nice, hot, gay-friendly men" condition. :D

But then, DC is the most "Worldly". I would point this out as complimentary but on second thought I'm not entirely sure what that MEANS.

I see that New Orleans is ranked #2 for friendliest and gay friendly. I am not surprised. With the carnival-like atmosphere... nobody cares if you want to walk down the street naked with your lesbian life partner.

Tucson doesn't even appear on the list. We would be number 1 if they had a category for "Cactus" or "Coyotes."

Yeah... don't count on it. Unless you like the "southern belle" type fag. There'll be PLENTY of them.

Have fun in Charleston. It's one of my favorite places to visit. Prime rib, squash casserole and twice-baked potatoes at High Cotton--I'm drooling already.

Just got back from Isle of Palms in Charleston. Lots of eye candy there. Check out the Boardwalk Inn. They have 3 pools with each one having plenty of eye candy. Woof!
Also, check out Morgan Creek Grille in Isle of Palms. The bartender upstairs is a hottie. The downstairs restaurant is awesome, with, again ,more hotties. Have fun you two!

Gosh, Baltimore didn't make any of these categories! But then again I'm not too surprised - Baltimore's one of the best kept secrets around.
Posted by: Shawn at October 24, 2007 02:40 PM
Hmm, Portland ranked pretty high on quite a few of them.

No southern city is gay friendly! GET OUT NOW!

Actually, Patrick, the small farming town I lived in was just fine. Everybody knew about my partner and myself, and nobody cared. Our whole *county* had 31,000 people, so it was cows, cows, pastureland and cows. And a bunch of live-and-let-live people. And ample parking, day or night.

I've worked for Travel+Leisure. Those "surveys" are bullshyt & are strictly formulated to stroke advertisers. Oops.

Whatever happened to that blogger Billy from Hilton Head Island? Had a big dick, great stories. I bet he would make your visit to South Carolina fun.
Here's his gaydar profile (NSFW): http://www.mygaydar.com/billyhhi
Anyone else remember him?

Charleston? Hah! That's very amusing.

Yea I knew it was shit when nothing from Wisconsin was mentioned.

Stebbins, check out actor "Cliff Rhodes" at Titan Media. You might recognize him from Hilton Head, or his former blog.

Stebbins, he became a Titan porn star. "Cliff Rhodes."
