Apparently, if you write lyrics like this:

Maybe in magazines

You will secure yourself a Song of the Year Grammy nomination.
I'm officially out of the music loop. I've only heard of 2 of the Best New Artist nominees:
Feist [sic]
Ledisi
Paramore
Taylor Swift
Amy Winehouse
What a crock. Where the fuck is Bearforce1?!?

I had to look four of the five of them up, too. Even after looking them up, only recognized one...and only because is was a Gap ad, or maybe Target.

Amy Winehouse is the only name I recognized...I guess at 42ish years old it wouldn't be age-appropriate for me to know anyone besides the obvious herion addict. Ahhh well I guess I am OVAH! I don't wanch The Hills or Gossip Girl either.

Patty Griffin's "CHILDREN RUNNING THROUGH" should have been nominated for album of the year and "HEAVENLY DAY" should have been nominated for BEST SONG OF THE YEAR. I am sooo shocked Patty wasn't nominated this time around.

Whoops. I just found out Patty WAS nominated for Best contemporary folk/Americana album. She's competing against Mary Chapin Carpenter, Ry Cooder, Earle, and Tom Waits. I am sure Patty will win this award.

Oh thank god! Someone who's nearly as musically out-of-loop as I am. I only know one: Amy Winehouse. And I only know her name cause someone told me, "you know, she's the one who does the 'nooo nooo no!' song".

That's always a cheap shot, pulling lyrics out of context to mock them. Pop songs lyrics almost always read as silly. In fact, if they didn't, that's when I'd be worried.

Don't you actually have to write a song to be nominated for Song of the Year? BF1 needs to put away the Benetton frequent-shopper card and pick up a pen and paper.
Also, Amy Winehouse isn't "new" either..."Back To Black" is her second album.
